Y-Strainer

Class SILE 'Y’ strainers are important components of piping systems to protect equipment from potential damage due to dirt and other foreign particles that may be carried by the process fluid. It is designed to remove foreign matter from pipelines and provide economical protection for pumps, meters, valves and other expensive equipments.

Class SILE 'Y’ strainer features a machined groove in both the body and cover for proper screen alignment to stop sediment bypass and to ensure accurate reseating when servicing is required. All Class SILE strainers have cap screws on Cover and can be furnished with a steel blow-off plug upon request. Self cleaning is accomplished by opening the valve or drain plug connected to the blow-off port. These can be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position (Downward flow) with the screen element pointing downward.

Standard perforated 304 stainless steel screens are spot welded along the seam for maximum strength. Different size perforations and meshes are available in a variety of materials to meet specific requirements. Special designs are also available including Magnetic, Wedge Wire, Drilled perforations and Pleated straining elements.

Size ½” ~ 16”
Rating ANSI 150# ~ 1500#
Material Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Exotic MOC, etc.

Basket Strainer

Class SILE Basket strainers are important components of piping systems to protect equipment from potential damage due to dirt and other foreign particles that may be carried by the process fluid. It is designed to remove foreign matter from pipelines and provide economical protection for pumps, meters, valves and other expensive equipments.

Class SILE 'Y’ strainer is available in Carbon or Stainless Steel with either Buttweld or Flanged end connections. It features a machined groove that encapsulates the cover gasket and aids in preventing gasket blow-outs. Pressure Loss is minimized by providing an over-the-top flow path and large straining area. Straining capacity is a minimum of four times that of the cross sectional area of the inlet pipe.

All Class SILE strainers with its large body and sizeable straining element can store large amount of debris - thus maximising time between servicing. It also features a machined seat with O-Ring that enables fine filtrations - down to 40 microns. Utilizing a modified straining element, the bottom drain can be fitted with a valve to allow for the Automatic cleaning or flushing of the straining element while keeping the pipeline in service.

Temporary Strainer

Temporary Strainers are used for start up of new or revamped piping systems. They are designed to provide inexpensive protection for costly valves, pumps, meters and other mechanical equipment. Temporary Strainers are available in following design type:

Cone Type

Basket Type

Plate Type

Size ¾” ~ 24”
Rating ANSI 150# ~ 1500#
Type Cone, Basket and Plate

Materials: Standard temporary strainer materials are stainless steel and carbon steel; however, other materials are also available.

Perforation/Mesh: Diameter holes of 1/8” on 3/16” centers is the standard perforation, but most sizes/varieties are available. For mesh lined strainers, flow direction must be specified.

Open Area: The available range in open area of strainer to cross section of pipe is 100% to 300%.

Cartridge Filter

Dry Gas Cartridge Filter efficiently removes rust, pipeline scale and dust from a natural gas stream. Applications include protection for valves, meters, regulators, and other equipment in refineries, chemical plants, pipeline stations, and others. Available in either a horizontal or vertical design, the horizontal configuration has its benefits for better control of settled solids when changing out the filter cartridges.

Cartridge Filters can guarantee a high filtration capacity and a low pressure drop. These filters use synthetic cartridges with a 100% efficiency for particles > than 3 microns and 99% for particles between 0.5 and 3 microns.

The depth type fiberglass filter cartridge is the most economical and does an excellent job of capturing solids. The pleated filter cartridge, in either polypropylene or polyester, is a good choice for expected high solids loading and has a very low clean pressure drop.
